Situated in the heart of the Lancashire Cotton Industry, Original Fabrics is a family-owned business established in 2004.
Our managing director Simon Hargreaves has over 40 years’ experience in the textile trade, with his son Tom Hargreaves joining the business in 2008. Tom is now the seventh generation Hargreaves involved in the textile industry.
Together, using their valuable experience and skillsets, the family are committed to providing high quality, innovative fabrics and designs to the market.

Hargreaves starts work at
Moscow Mill as a half-timer aged 7
1900Arthur’s son James Thomas ‘Tom’
Hargreaves becomes involved with
Enfield Manufacturing Company,
later taking over as sole owner in 1919.

1983Simon Hargreaves joins family business,
then known as Hilden
2004Simon Hargreaves acquires Mattress
Ticking Division of Hilden, which
becomes Original Fabrics
2010Original Fabrics moves to new premises
in Haslingden, Lancashire.
2022Acquires new warehouse, further
extending stock holding capacity,
with over a million metres of fabric
2024Original Fabrics celebrates it’s 20th Year Anniversary. Est. 2004.
